I love taking pictures, the every day, the mundane, the big, the fun, the celebrating, even the hard. Images I want to remember. So, this year, I'm documenting my everyday. A photo a day for my FB/IG and then writing the stories of each on my blog weekly.
So, welcome to (March) 2017!

Sunday morning I caught up with my friend Leigh for a few minutes between services at church. She and I met last summer when a mutual friend invited her to a Bible Study at my house. It is such a God story of her being able to attend that study as she was in the midst of chemo treatments for Breast Cancer. She is thankfully in remission, getting back to the swing of life, hair is growing back (though she looks amazing with a pixie cut) and starting to find her post-cancer "normal". I've learned so much from Leigh as she's shared her story and recovery as well. She's also had so many opportunities to share her cancer story and her faith, I know that she is encouraging so many women who are walking in the shoes she has. I'm thankful for friends like this that teach me so much!

Monday was our Livestock Judging day for my rodeo committee, and we had a record number: 2,011 students participated in our contests in one single day. It's a long day, starting around 5:30 in the morning and finishing around 6pm, but it is one of my favorite days of the year! These guys have been a huge help to me these last 6 years as I was a Captain over this contest and then Vice Chairman. Grateful to get to work long days aside long time friends!!

I started my second class of the semester today and we did one of those personality quizzes. Yes, I am "gold" pretty much exactly!! The only things I didn't agree with in my professor's description was "you like to do things the way they have always been done". I'm a logistics, efficiency, planner, thinker and if there's a better/faster/more efficient way to do something, I'm all about that!!
03.22.17
I had some reading to catch up on and went out to lunch by myself with my Kindle app and enjoyed lunch on the patio and some down time in the midst of a hectic week getting back to work and wrapping up the Rodeo.
03.23.17
I went to the rodeo with a couple of friends, we sat to watch the whole rodeo and concert and it even made it on TV! ha! I ended up at the rodeo 16 of 20 days, but only got to sit and watch the rodeo & concert a handful of times.
03.24.17
Friday night was our committee Donor Appreciation Party and every year Tina, Christa and I take a party pic. They are wives of former Chairman of my commitee and dear friends too.

I love the rodeo because I get to see so many friends I don't see often throughout the year. I met Karrie when I was in High School and she was in college and living with one of our neighbors. I tagged along to college rodeos, dog sat for her, and spent many a night at her apartment my first year in college. I was in her wedding and we have kept in touch through all these years. The last couple of years we have gotten to hang out on Saturday morning for a long visit, which is such a treat!
{03.25.17 - Double Bonus}
Karrie is a lover of animals and has a special place for dogs. She was a dear friend who checked in on me often after losing my Barney, and celebrated big when I brought Auggie home. So, it was fun for her to get to meet Auggie on her trip to Houston, and he showered her with lots of attention and no boundary for personal space. :) Thank you Karrie for the fun toy for Auggie too!
Scott and I have known each other close to 20 years, and Saturday we finished up 3 years working together, he was our committee Chairman and I was a Vice Chairman. This was right after our last contest ended, awards had been handed out, everything picked up and officially done with duties for this rodeo season! Three years have flown!
Thank you for reading, and would love for you to stay in touch!
